| LPG for Jaguar hybrid supercar |

Jaguar’s latest supercar unveiled at the 2010 Paris Motor Show could enter production in the next five to seven years. According to Autocar Magazine “Jaguar considers the car almost wholly realistic for production and it has ambitions to bring it to the road, relaunching Jaguar as a powerful, forward-looking force in the supercar world.” The concept car employs a new propulsion system with electric wheel-motors and two micro gas turbine engines. Each wheel its own 195hp electric motor, which means that the car has 780hp and 1600Nm of torque – by far the most powerful and fastest hybrid to date. Two mid-mounted micro-gas turbine engines that run on LPG have multiple roles: they can either generate 188hp to extend the range of the car to 560 miles (the electric only range is 68 miles) or offer a power premium when the driver decides to use the “track” mode. |
