The April round-up from the CFBP (French LP Gas Association) demonstrates that there were 14, 329 autogas vehicles registered in March (about 6% of the market share). In total, the 1st quarter 2010 will have been strong with 22, 500 new autogas vehicles. In 2010, the offer of new autogas vehicles continues to grow. Seven manufacturers in France in 2010 offer one or several models of cars running on autogas. There were just three at the beginning of 2009.
o Citroën: 1 model (C3)
o Chevrolet: 2 models (Aveo and Spark)
o Dacia: 2 models (Logan and Dacia)
o Fiat: 1 model (Bravo)
o Lada: 1 model (Niva)
o Opel: 3 models (Agila, Complicated and Meriva)
o Renault: 2 models (Clio Campus and New Clio)
Eleven of these models are eligible for the environmental bonus of €2,000 offered by the French government because they do not exceed 135g CO2 emissions per kilometre. Because of government and a good price at the pump, more and more French motorists decide to turn to this alternative fuel because it is cleaner, cheaper and available.
